Who is running this auction and why?
The administrators of the Hurricane Sandy Support Page- South Jersey (Cindy Dudas, Jessica Nooney and Kate Shaw) decided to run this auction to help raise money to benefit local Jersey Shore residents and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Who will this auction benefit?
The auction will benefit Waves for Water's Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative. Waves for Water is a verified 501 (c)3 charitable organization.
Where is the event being held?
The whole thing will be held online right here on our Sandy Treasures Art Auction website.
How do I bid?
Once you find a piece you want to bid on, you simply make a comment below it with your bid amount and your email address. If you would rather not post your email address, please contact me at cynthialeemom@yahoo.com and we can make other arrangements.
Can I bid on more than one item?
Yes! Please do!
Can I bid anonymously?
If you would like to bid anonymously, you can contact me at cynthialeemom@yahoo.com. We can make arrangements then. I can not say that it would be completely anonymous, because I will need to know your name myself. You have my word that I won't tell anyone. Pinky swear.
What happens if two people bid at the same time?
Each comment will have a time stamp on it. If the time stamp on two comments is the same, the higher bidder's comment will be considered the valid one. If both bids are the same, we will do an old fashioned coin flip to determine whose bid will remain. Each discrepency will be handled individually.
How long will the auction run?
The auction starts at 12:01AM on April 1st and will run until 12:00 PM (noon) EST on April 20th. No bids will be counted before or after those times.
How will I know if I've won an item?
You will be contacted at the email address you have provided. You will then be expected to pay within 48 hours or the item will go to the next highest bidder.
How do I pay for my item if I win?
You will pay directly to our fundraising site at Waves for Water. If you can not pay online, please contact me at cynthialeemom@yahoo.com for other arrangements.
Do I have to pay shipping charges?
If you need an item shipped, you will be responsible for any packaging and shipping charges. This will be a separate charge from your donation and will not be paid to Waves for Water. It will be paid to my Paypal account and I will use the money to ship your item.
Can I preview the items?
Yes. All items are up for preview here on the Sandy Treasures Art Auction site.
If I win an item, can I arrange for pick-up instead of shipping?
Yes! Pick-up is the preferred way for you to get your art. If you win and would like to pick-up, I will let you know available times. We can also make arrangements for delivery if you are local to Little Egg Harbor, NJ.
How can I find out more info on the artists?
Each piece has a biography of its artist listed under it on the website. Some contain links to the artist's sites as well as other information. However, while some are professional artists using their art as business, others have asked to remain anonymous. We respect their wishes and can not offer any more information.
How can I find out more info on Waves for Water's Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative?
Check out their website at Waves For Water.
I would like to donate, but would rather not participate in the art auction...can I still donate to your fundraiser?
Sure! You can donate as much as you'd like by visiting our fundraising page. Thank you!
Does the auction have a Facebook page?
Yes. Look up Sandy Treasures Art Auction and there we are!
I'd like to get the word out on Twitter. Does the auction have a hashtag?

If you have any additional questions, please leave a message here or send an email to cynthialeemom@yahoo.com.
Disclosure:
We (Cindy Dudas, Jessica Nooney and Kate Shaw) are not affiliated with any company. We started the Hurricane Sandy Support Page- South Jersey the day after the hurricane in hopes to help people, but we are not a charity that can accept donations ourselves.
We have found over time that while some charities help a little, others help a lot. Waves for Water is one of the charities that has been doing a LOT. We have watched them work hand in hand with our local friends at Jetty and chose to support them strictly for this reason.
All artists have donated their work to us out of the goodness of their hearts. Do not use images of their pieces for any reason without giving credit to the artist.
We are not/can not be responsible for the state of your artwork once it is out of our hands. We will take great care of it while we have it in our possession. But if it needs to be shipped to you we can not insure that it may not become damaged in the process. If you need to have your artwork shipped, it will be solely your responsibility to pay for any packing material and shipping charges. If you want to purchase insurance through the USPS, we can certainly arrange that. These charges will be separate from your donation to Waves For Water.
We appreciate you taking the time to read this page and look forward to the auction! Thanks!
